JOHN DANIELS IS A STRUGGLING ACTOR WHO TAKES A ONE-DAY GIG STARRING IN A COMMERCIAL FOR A STRANGE, RUN-DOWN AMUSEMENT PARK.
IT SHOULD BE AN EASY PAYCHECK. BUT SOMEWHERE BETWEEN TAKES, THE WORLD HE’S PRETENDING TO INHABIT BEGINS BLEEDING INTO HIS OWN. AS SCRIPTED THREATS BECOME REAL AND THE PEOPLE AROUND HIM STOP BEHAVING LIKE ACTORS, JOHN FINDS HIMSELF TRAPPED IN A PART THAT MAY NOT END WHEN THE CAMERAS STOP ROLLING.

WHO’S ASKING?
Patrick Lopez is a writer and filmmaker drawn to dark comedy, psychological horror, and stories where something feels just slightly wrong.
His work tends to live somewhere between funny and unsettling, following ordinary people into increasingly strange situations and finding the humanity underneath the discomfort. He’s particularly interested in obsession, guilt, identity, and the bizarre rules people invent for themselves and then somehow end up trapped inside.
Working in and around film for much of his career has shaped an approach that is deeply visual, collaborative, and probably a little too concerned with whether the hallway feels weird enough.
His recent films include ScorseseLand, a darkly comic character study about a man who has spent his life waiting for his big break, only to find himself trapped in a world built from the same hope, regret, and delusion that kept him waiting in the first place; and Walk-Ins, a restrained dark comedy about a man who carefully prepares for one difficult conversation, then discovers that getting someone to actually have it with him may be the harder part.
Born in Fullerton, California, Patrick grew up in Kanab, Utah, and is now based in Los Angeles.
